●Origin
The Yilan International Children's Folklore and Folkgame Festival (IICFFF) opens every year on the first weekend of July at Chinshui Park in Yilan, northeastern Taiwan. The activitiy revolves around the four axes of performances, exhibitions, games and water-play.

●Activities
Every year, IICFFF widely invites high quality performing groups from all over the world, bringing you music, performance, and folk arts featuring different world culture from troupes that attend the festival. This is a great opportunity for children to come into contact with and learn to appreciate cultures different from their own.

In the games area, the giant 3-D maze and the "High Net" suspension bridge have always been the favorites with kids, All those who love a challenge are invited to come and take their best shot! For water-theme games, there will be a water maze, a tunnel of surprises, and a giant water bed, all featuring coordinated lights, music, and atmosphere. This is a great way for those feeling the summer heat to wash away all the stress and annoyances of hectic daily life.

The festival's exhibition halls mount a variety of displays on different creative themes, focusing on the toys and games of a specific nation or region, the latest in computerized toys, or the hottest topics in activities for children, which give visitors a glimpse into the culture of the whole world through children's playthings.

The number of people attending has grown each year since the festival was first held in 1996. For the past five years, over two million visits have been attracted. This event not only enriches Yilan's culture, also creates opportunities for various industries, tourism, arts, and diplomacy.
